Speech Festival
The Chevron Honolulu District Elementary Speech Festival will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2009 at McKinley High School this year. This festival includes Grade 3-6 students performing in 5 difference categories, which include Choral Reading, Group Interpretation, Oral Interpretation, Storytelling, and Poetry. Each school selects up to 15 students to attend and represent their school in the Speech Festival. Participating students perform in front of an audience and a panel of judges, who will be rating them on their articulation, volume, and expression.
During the month February, we held Speech Festival tryouts for all Grade 3-6 students who expressed interest in participating. This year, we had total of 70 students from Grade 3-6 who tried out for the Speech Festival. While all students worked hard and performed wonderfully, we have selected the students with the top average tryout scores. CONGRATULATIONS to the 15 students who have been selected to represent Manoa School and participate in this year’s Chevron Honolulu District Elementary Speech Festival! The 15 students are:
