Fourth Grade News
Our first field trip was a success. The Bishop Museum offered so much for the students to see and learn. Some students commented about how they got a hands-on experience demonstrating the building up of pressure to create a wax volcano. They were also intrigued by the planetarium and how the Hawaiians navigated by the stars. The newly renovated Hawaiian Hall was beautiful. It was amazing at how so many valuable antiquities have been preserved for such a long time. The moving dinosaurs were realistic and kind of scary to some of the students. If you have a chance to visit the museum during the holidays, we strongly suggest it.
Speaking of the holidays, here they are! Time surely has flown. We're emphasizing the spirit of the seasons and integrating gratitude and the importance of family into many of our writing and art lessons. We'll be continuing on multiplication and finishing with fractions before the Winter Recess. Encourage your child to continue to memorize their multiplication facts and continue recreational reading. Also, have your child replenish their supplies, if necessary. Have a Mele Kalikimaka and a Hauoli Makahiki Hou! (Merry Christmas and Happy New Year)
