Program Description/Services Provided

The Navy Child Development Homes Program (NCDHP) is a child-care training, monitoring and certification program.  Individuals, who are certified to become CDH providers, are required to receive training in COMNAV and OPNAV Base instructions for child care, child management, child development, child abuse and neglect, food sanitations, fire safety, child care as a small business, health and safety, the USDA food program, CPR/First Aid and working with parents.  They also receive instructions in selecting appropriate toys, planning age appropriate activities and developing quality child-care environment.

Background clearances are conducted on all applicants to ensure all providers have the proper foundation and abilities to provide quality care.  Home visits and inspections are conducted on a routine basis to assure providers maintain a quality
childcare environment and implement age appropriate activities.  Monthly training and certification renewals are conducted regularly.

Interested individuals are encouraged to contact the NCDH Program.  A listing of all certified providers is maintained at our KIDSLINE office which parents can obtain information regarding all the Navy communities to assist parents in finding quality childcare.

Program Description/Services Provided

KIDSLINE is the Navy’s Childcare Resource and Referral Office.  It is a free, convenient one-stop service for childcare and subsidy information provided to military personnel, DoD civilians, and their dependents.   KIDSLINE maintains a consolidated wait list for all Navy Child Development Programs on Oahu.  Active Duty Military and DOD civilians can register their child(ren) onto our waitlist for one or all of the Navy programs.  Childcare alternatives or options are offered while parents await their preferred choice for care.  KIDSLINE, also, provides consultation to parents in choosing the best care that will meet their child’s needs.

SCHOOL-AGE CARE PROGRAM

The School-Age Care Program is designed to provide before and after school care, summer camp and intersessions for youth ages 5-12, grades K-6). Crafts, indoor and outdoor activities, field trips, cooking, news writing and science clubs are a few examples of what is offered in the School-Age Care Program.

B & GCNH Youth Sports Program

Pee Wee Sports provides a 10-week basic skills developmental activity which encourages parent/child interaction for ages 3-5. Activities include but are not limited to Soccer,T-Ball, Flag Football and Basketball.
Youth Sports also offers Basketball, Little League Baseball, Cheerleading, Soccer and Football for children ages 5-17. Programs may be added or deleted based on usage or demand. Contact the Youth Sports Program for more information.

JOINT MILITARY FAMILY ABUSE SHELTER

The Joint Military Family Abuse Shelter is funded by the U.S. Department of Defense and provides free services twenty-four hours a day in the following areas:

Program Description/Services Provided

The Annex is staffed by one Independent Duty Hospital Corpsman and three Hospital Corpsmen. Minimal labwork is done at the Annex as blood and urine samples are sent out for processing. There is no X-ray capability. Acute care patients are transferred to the appropriate medical facility (TAMC, Schofield Barracks Acute Care or Wahiawa General Hospital).

Clinic hours are from 0700-1100 and 1300-1600 on Mondays - Thursdays and 0700-1100 on Fridays. It is best for the patient to call and schedule an apointment at 653-5340 for routine medical care, GYN exams, physical (periodic, retirement, or separation) exams, dental care, or suitability screening. Walk-in patients will be screened and given an appointment for a later time, if applicable.



 

DRUG AND ALCOHOL ABUSE ADVISOR (DAPA)

Program Description/Services Provided

The Drug and Alcohol Program Advisor (DAPA) serves as the Commanding Officer's assistant in all matters pertaining to the nature and context of drug and alcohol use and abuse within the command.

The DAPA provides screening, assessment, and referral to appropriate counseling and assistance centers for all personnel. The Advisor also incorporates drug/alcohol education in the Command's General Military Training. Coordination with the PREVENT Office is maintained for scheduling of quarterly PREVENT classes. An Alcohol Drug Abuse for Managers and Supervisors (ADAMS) and Alcohol Awareness classes are provided on a monthly basis. The DAPA maintains liaison with all civilian drug and alcohol programs for personnel participation.



 

LEGAL ASSISTANCE OFFICE

Program Description/Services Provided

The Legal Assistance Office at NCTAMS PAC is located at BLDG 10. The office mainly consists of military justice involving disciplinary matters such as nonjudicial punishments, courts-martials, and administrative separations. However, the office does provide limited legal assistance services such as wills, powers of attorney, and notaries. For assistance in other areas, such as divorces, name changes, claims, and defense issues, members are referred to the Naval Legal Service Office at Pearl Harbor.
