Aloha, Military Families & Students (AMFAS)

Excellent information about Hawaii schools is available in various locations, e.g. web sites, on site at schools, military organizations, etc. To ease the school transition stresses for students and parents relocating to Hawaii, a vehicle was needed to provide critical information as early in the Permanent Change of Station (PCS) move as possible. Prior to arrival, newly arriving parents have 'survival' needs to address (e.g. transportation, finding a home, enrolling in school, etc.) that make it unrealistic to attend an information session immediately upon arrival.

U.S. Pacific Command (USPACOM)

U.S. Pacific Command (USPACOM) is a Unified Combatant Command of the Armed Forces of the United States. It encompasses about half the earth?s surface, stretching from the west coast of the U.S. to the western border of India, and from Antarctica to the North Pole. There are few regions as culturally, socially, economically, and geo-politically diverse as the Asia-Pacific. The 36 nations that comprise the Asia-Pacific region are home to more than fifty percent of the world?s population, three thousand different languages, several of the world?s largest militaries, and five nations allied with the U.S. through mutual defense treaties. Two of the four largest economies are located in the Asia-Pacific along with 10 of the 14 smallest. The AOR includes the most populous nation in the world, the largest democracy, and the largest Muslim-majority nation. More than one third of Asia-Pacific nations are smaller island nations that include the smallest republic in the world and the smallest nation in Asia.

Hawaii 3R's (Repair, Remodel, Restore Our Schools)

In 2001, U.S. Senator Daniel Inouye began a new initiative called Hawaii 3R's (Repair, Remodel and Restore Hawaii's public schools). Our mission is to bring outside financial and human resources together to tackle the approximate $640 million repair and maintenance backlog.

eHawaii.gov is the State of Hawaii's initiative to provide state and local government information and services to businesses and local citizens via the Internet.

The portal manager is the Hawaii Information Consortium, LLC. Our sole focus is to develop, manage and maintain web-based applications that make working with the government easier for the public.

eHawaii.gov was initially launched in 2000. Since then over 45 web-based applications have been deployed.

Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS)

The Personal and Family Readiness Division (MR) under the staff cognizance of the Deputy Commandant for Manpower and Reserve Affairs is responsible for providing policy, plans, resources, and direct support to Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) field activities for certain nonappropriated fund management and oversight functions, such as accounting, information technology, and construction.
