Kia’i ka ike

Kia’i ka ike is an organization of professionals who care for children, youth, and their families.  Established in 1999, Kia’i ka ike provides opportunities primarily for directors of child care programs.  Educational opportunities are offered where members share their knowledge and experiences.

Currently, Kia’i ka ike serves over 75 members and is active in organizing director support group meetings.  Since its establishment, Kia’i ka ike has presented over 8 professional development conferences for island directors with national presentations, hosted regular informal meetings for directors to network, share resources, and participate in professional development opportunities, participated on the Governor’s initiative committee, participated in DOE STEPS transition team and has expanded our community representation and collaboration with:
