Aikahi Elementary is a suburban K-6 school located in Kailua, Hawai’i. Our standards-based academic programs occur in a supportive and caring learning environment for all students. Application of the Positive Behavior Support approach to good citizenship helps students develop and reinforce values of respect for self, respect for others, and responsibility for actions.
These lessons of success are aligned with the Hawai’i General Learner Outcomes. Aikahi’s special education includes the Windward District’s Hearing Impaired Program. Other whole school programs are Hawaiiana, Academically Gifted and Talented program, Japanese Language, Music, Art, JPO’s, Student Council, Math Nights, and Video, Cooking, and Library Clubs.
Technology is integrated throughout the curriculum, utilizing interior and exterior computer labs, as well as classroom computers. Parents actively support the school through fund raising and volunteer efforts such as tutoring, organizing fairs, playground construction and clean-up, school store, and library.
