Henry Perrine Baldwin High School

Wailuku is nestled at the foothills of the West Maui Mountains in Central Maui. Baldwin High School serves the Wailuku district of Maui. It includes Wailuku and the surrounding areas of Waiehu, Waikapu, Waihe'e and Maalaea. Baldwin High School serves Wailuku districts population of 61,346 (2000 Census). Wailuku has grown over 34% over the last ten years. Baldwin's student population is reflected in these findings. This growing population continues to increase mainly due to the strong tourist industry on Maui.

The economic range of the families of Baldwin students is wide, from low income to high income with the middle income sector being the largest. The median household brings in $50,000 a year. Families below the poverty level stand at 10%.

Baldwin High School has an excellent reputation in the community for its academic, athletic, and extra curricular programs. The wide range of offerings in courses and activities include Advanced Placement courses, Performing Arts Learning Center, JROTC, DECA, Academy of Finance, URSA Freshmen Teaming and MIL sports, among others. Our athletic teams are very competitive and very often are the MIL champions who move on to compete at the State championship level. An increasing number of students are participating in Running Start which is a partnership with Maui Community College for high school students who want to take college level courses.

Baldwin High School is implementing 4X4 modified block scheduling beginning school year 2006-07.

Baldwin High School is a WASC accredited school and is currently operating under the School Community Council.
