'Ewa Elementary School traces its origin back to 1882 making us one of the oldest schools in the Le'Eward District. Many of our families are tied to this community through their connection with the sugar plantation day. In 1890, Mr. James Campbell drilled into an artesian well, which led to the development of sugar lands in this vast area, which now encompasses 'Ewa, Kapolei and parts of 'Ewa Beach.
On February 12, 1944, our statue of Abraham Lincoln was unveiled as a gift to the 'Ewa Community through the generosity of Ms. Katherine McIntosh Burke, principal of 'Ewa School in the 1920’s. This year, we held the 62nd Annual Lincoln Day Program that reflects his beliefs, values and time of his life.
In School Year 2005-2006, the School Community Council was organized, met regularly and reviewed/recommended approval of our school’s Strategic, Academic and Financial Plans.
