Kahalu'u Elementary School

Kahalu'u Elementary School is located in a rural, agricultural setting, situated in peaceful Waihee Valley, near the foot of the Koolau Mountains. It is a fairly small school of less than 300 children, enabling close relationships among students, teachers, and staff.

The school opened in September, 1963, with eight teachers and approximately 218 students from grades Kindergarten through Grade 5. With increased suburban housing developments, the enrollment soon increased to over 700 students in 1970. But with the opening of a neighboring school, the enrollment decreased to approximately 330 and has slowly decline to the present 221 students.
