Kahuku High and Intermediate has served generations of students and established a long and proud tradition of academic, artistic, and athletic excellence since the school first opened its doors in 1987. High standards and strong support structures promote a culture of achievement. In the 2005-2006 school year, the senior class earned almost two million dollars in scholarships and students won national titles in History Day, We the People and Scholastic Art events. Sports teams won interscholastic and state championships in 12 sports including football, wrestling, track and field, water polo, and golf.
The school offers a career pathways program with health and music learning centers. Career initiatives, including an on-line store, are supported by the Ko'olauloa Educational Alliance. The school offers AVID, a program that prepares students for college. The school was accredited in 2004 by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges for a full term with a revisit, receives Title I funds, and operates under School Community Council management. Kahuku High & Intermediate School was accredited in 2004 by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges for a period of six years with a mid-term review.
