Kalei'opu'u Elementary School

Kalei'opu'u Elementary School, which opened in 1989, is located in the Village Park/Royal Kunia area and is a growing part of Waipahu. We are part of the Waipahu Complex Schools with grades Kindergarten through Grade 6. We have four pre-school classes for learning impaired students.

The Kalei'opu'u school community has high expectations for its students to meet and exceed the Hawaii Content and Performance Standards. Support services are provided for eligible students with special needs from learning impaired to gifted and talented. In addition to providing a strong developmental program in reading and mathematics, students are provided the opportunity to make connections in their learning through integrated, thematic units based on science and social studies concepts.

Parent participation in school activities is sought and encouraged. The Friends of Kalei'opu'u PTA and the businesses in the area are active supporters of the school. Our School Community Council is comprised of 12 members from our school, parents, and community.
