Kauai High School is located in the main town of Lihue and serves an ethnically diverse student population from the surrounding communities of Hanamaulu, Puhi, Lihue, Koloa, Poipu, Lawai, Omao, and Kalaheo. The school is part of a Consortium of Smaller Learning Community High Schools and has redesigned into 9th and 10th grade teams and 11th and 12th grade career academies. The focus of learning is centered on academic rigor, relevance, and relationships. It is the mission of the school to prepare and support all students in their future endeavors. The SCC was formed in spring 2005 and provides a forum for collaboration among all stakeholders.
