New playground equipment, constructed according to new physical education standards and safety codes, was dedicated in the Fall of 2004. A Department of Transportation/State of Hawai'i Air Conditioning project was completed in the Spring of 2004, affecting all main buildings and most of the portables. The Library also houses the school's computer lab. Every classroom is computer/internet ready, online with a Local Area Network that connects KES with the world.
