Kipapa Elementary School

Located on the plains of Central Oahu, Kipapa Elementary School, home of the proud Cougars, is the oldest school in the Mililani Complex. Established in 1932 to service a pineapple plantation community, Kipapa School is rich in history and tradition. Today, the school services a diverse population with students from the communities of Waikalani, Waipio Acres, and parts of Mililani Town. Approximately 45% of the students receive free-reduced lunches. The high percentage of students qualifies Kipapa for Title I services. In addition to the Parent-Teacher Group, Inc. and SCBM Council, Kipapa School has created the Kipapa Elementary Alumni and Community Foundation to foster school pride and to create an endowment for the school.

Kipapa School operates on a modified year-round calendar. Kipapa's SID will continue to focus on Standards-Based Learning with an emphasis on math and science. Every student will be given a pre-mid-post test on reading comprehension/response and on writing rhetoric. Dr. Kathy Au will be retained as a consultant to assist with Standards-Based Learning. Parent and community engagement continues to be a high priority area. Brown Bag lunches with parents and students are well attended. A number of parent workshops and coffee hours are presented throughout the school year.
