Lincoln Elementary School is at the foot of Punchbowl and serves a supportive community that includes Makiki, Tantalus, Round Top, Papakolea, and Kewalo. This makes for a diverse student population. The school’s mission is to provide successful educational opportunities for every child. The vision is to develop students who are literate, lifelong learners who practice respect, responsibility, resourcefulness, and positive relationships.
The faculty, staff and administration are committed to making a positive difference in the life of every student. Through effective, standards-based teaching, the students will be able to maximize their potential for successful living. Lincoln School offers several support programs to assist all students in meeting the HCPS. Some of those supports include tutoring programs, test-prep rallies, a reform, research-based math program, and school wide articulation.
Lincoln School’s Family Involvement Committee sponsors activities and workshops in which teachers, students and parents interact within a supportive learning community. Some of those activities and workshops include “Cat in the Hat” Day, Halloween Math Fun, Dr. Gadget’s Science Machine, and Waikiki Aquarium overnighter. Additionally, our Special Events Committee sponsors activities like the May Day celebration, Country Fair, Winter Musical, and Family Picnic and Movie Night that help enrich relationships among the school community role groups.
