Maunawili Elementary School

Maunawili Elementary is a school of approximately 425 students located in a beautiful pastoral setting at the foot of Mount Olomana in Kailua. Maunawili Elementary serves a diverse population of students from the surrounding communities of Olomana, Pohakupu, Maunawili and Kukunono. Our school community is now extending beyond our local community. We are receiving an increasing number of geographic exceptions from Waimanalo and Kailua.

Maunawili's staff, parents, and community are committed to the highest quality of education for our students. We are known for creative and innovative projects and activities such as our annual Curriculum Fair, Winter and Spring Festivals, Fun Fair, iSAFE, and Parent Toolkits. Our students are also active in Service Learning Groups such as Student Council, Library Club, Helping Hands Club, Technologically Empowered Kids (TEKkies), and Junior Police Officers (JPOs). Our students have won awards in the Castle Speech Festival, PTA Reflections Art Contest and JPO Program. We welcome community involvement and have developed partnerships with the Queen Liliuokalani Children's Center, Castle Foundation, Kaneohe Ranch, Kailua YMCA, Kaneohe Marine Corps Air Station, Kailua High School, and Olomana Alternative Learning Center. Maunawili has a School Community Council composed of parents, teachers, administrator, classified staff, students and community members.
