Mililani High School (MHS) is the public high school in Mililani. The school, located on forty-five acres of state property in lush Central Oahu, was established in September 1973, and graduated its first class in June 1977. The town itself is a planned suburban, uppermiddle class community with wide, tree-lined streets and well-tended homes and yards. The school currently services 2,420 students in grades 9 –12. The student body has a full spectrum of military and local students coming from all socio-economic levels. The number and percentage of students receiving free or reduced-cost lunch is 288 students or 12% of the student population. There are about 300 students enrolled in special education classes and about 32 students at the school with limited English proficiency. Ethnically, the student body is comprised of various groups that include Japanese, Caucasian, "Other", Filipino, Part Hawaiian, African American, Chinese, Hispanic, Korean, Portuguese, and Samoan. There is no clear majority of any one ethnic population. The feeder school to Mililani High School is Mililani Middle school. Elementary schools in the area include Kipapa Elementary, Mililani Ike, Mililani Mauka, Mililani Uka, and Mililani Waena. One of the elementary schools has a Title I program which may be an indicator of the diverse ability levels at Mililani High School.
