Waipahu High School

Waipahu High School serves families living in a six square mile region bounded by Kamehameha Highway, West Loch, Kunia Road, Village Park Subdivision, and the H-1. Neighborhoods include Waipahu, Waikele, Robinson Heights, Royal Kunia, and Village Park. The economic level of families ranges from low to moderately high income. The student population is primarily Filipino followed by Samoan, Part-Hawaiian, and other ethnicities.

Waipahu High School was accredited in spring 2005 by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges and received a six-year term with a mid-term review.

All efforts revolve around Waipahu High School's vision of establishing a comprehensive educational program that truly reflects the varied needs of all our students so that all can meet the State of Hawaii's Mission and Vision of the Hawaii Public School Graduate, General Learner Outcomes and the Hawaii Content and Performance Standards.

By emphasizing rigor, relevance, and relationships via an array of comprehensive student support services, personal adult advocate program, positive behavior support system, school attendance policy, concentration on effective instructional approaches and strategies for all learners, emphasis on standards-based lessons/unit planning, focus on literacy, analysis of student achievement to inform instruction, and teaming efforts to create smaller learning communities for students, Waipahu High School is committed to helping all students achieve.
